FCL Seafreight 🡻
- FCL (Full Container Load) is a safe and reliable method of shipping cargo. Cargo can be moved in 20 or 40 foot containers that come with a range of variances; open top, flat rack, refrigerated (reefer) or ISO-Tank.
- Contrasted to LCL - where the container is shared with other shippers, FCL utilizes the full container for one shipper from the factory door to the receivers door.
- Dependent on the specifications of the cargo, it can often be more cost effective to load an FCL container even though if the cargo does not fill the container. This can be attributed to LCL being measured by the total cubic meters loaded, whereby FCL is measured by one figure for the entire container.

LCL Seafreight 🡻
- LCL (Less Than Container Load) refers to the method of consolidating your freight in a container with other shippers.
- This method can provide a cost-saving benefit for shipments that consist of a few pallets by only paying for the volume that your cargo requires rather than a flat fee for a full container.
When should you consider LCL vs FCL or Airfreight?
- When your cargo is not urgent
- When your cargo volume is 10m3 or under

FCX / Buyers Consolidation 🡻
- FCX (Full Container Consolidation) also referred to as Buyers Consolidation is when you (as the buyer) have several suppliers in the same / closely neighboring countries to consolidate in the same container.
- This can be correlated to LCL Seafreight, though there is only one receiver instead of multiple.
- FCX / Buyers Consolidations can prove cost effective for receivers to incur a flat fee for the container, though receive goods from multiple suppliers.
KTL Australia & partner offices can offer consolidation services for your groupage consignments.
